Polyester (PET)

This film is also known as PET or Mylar™ (Dupont trade name) is an outstanding general-purpose film that is ideal for most any application. It is extremely durable and features excellent scuff and scratch resistance. PET is the industry’s most popular film.

Polypropylene (OPP)

OPP is an economical choice for enhancing and preserving your printed materials. OPP Gloss films have high clarity and create a "WET LOOK" when laminated to your printed materials. Matte films are designed to reduce glare, and cause little or no color shift. OPP has a good overall balance of properties and is a favorite choice in the industry when the intended life of the product is shorter, costs of finishing are a concern, yet surface enhancement and protection are needed.

• Good optical properties - gives a "wet look"
• Good chemical resistance
• Folds extremely well
• Cost effective when compared to PET
• Softer and more flexible than PET

Nylon (NYL) Lay Flat^®

Nylon film is specifically designed for the use in one-sided applications. It is very popular particularly for book covers and dust jackets, due to its uniquely stable and non-curling properties. When exposedto heat, as during lamination, nylon won't stretch or expand. Accordingly, when cooling, nylon doesn't shrink. It is also widely believed that nylon absorbs moisture in the air at about the same rate as the paper substrate reducing the effects of paper expansion on the unlaminated side. – yet another “plus” in the fight against curl.
